For All the Couples Who Cannot Publicly Celebrate Today.

For all the couples who cannot publicly celebrate today...taboo couples, couples in hiding, couples who cannot speak of their existence: I hope you celebrate your love proudly and fully today. For the beautiful unification that you are, the ability to love beyond society’s norms; be it gender, race, social status, disapproval, or last name; the capacity to pave paths unwalked, and the belief in something greater than eyes know.

Whether it is validated by the click of a Facebook post, commemorated by a photo, or seen in the light of day, I hope you can love with your head up high, with your voices loud, hearts warm, and spirits bright.

Because you and what you believe in, is beautiful. That bravery and vision is how beautiful things are made. That tug in your soul that just feels so right, is how miracles happen. Listen to it and nurture it.

If you can dream it, you certainly can achieve it. I know you can. And I and many others, are endlessly rooting for you.

Because your love is important. Because you are important.

It is a battle given to you, because only you have the strength to take it on.

I know you have no choice but to strive and make each day an intentional and special day for the choices you have sacrificed to make, but let this be an extra special day, because you deserve it just as much as anyone else.

Don't be ashamed. Don't be afraid. You are so courageous, so full of love, so brave, so strong, and you are soldiers at the front line of evolution. You are not any less human for the love you are fighting for, if anything, you are more.

This day isn’t just for your love, but it is also for you. May one of today’s greatest gifts, be the love from you to you.
